Membership Badges
Various sections of the Scout Movement have specific badges relevant to their programme, however there are a few badges that all members have, the Membership Badges which are shown below.
The Membership Badge
This is a symbol of being a member of the Scout Movement and all members will have it on their uniform. It is quite possible that upon joining, a person will have the very same badge throughout the whole of their Scouting years.
District and County Badge
This badge is also worn on the uniform and indicates that the holder is a member of Walsall District which is within the West Mercia Scout County.
Joining In Awards
The Joining In Awards recognise a commitment to Scouting. These badges recognise the length of time a young person has been a Member of the Scout Movement, rather than as a member of any individual Section.
The Moving-On Awards
These are awarded when a Youth member migrates from one section to the other, for example from Cubs to Scouts thus recognising that they are already Members of the Scout Movement.
